Jay Wells L’Ecuyer is a writer, actor, and comedian who first took the stage in 2004. As a comedian, he co-founded the Toronto-based sketch troupe The Boom, where he wrote and performed alongside Colin Mochrie and Scott Thompson. The Boom has been featured at The Second City, Vans Warped Tour, and the LA and NY Comedy Festivals.
His award-winning comedy duo Jay & Eytan have performed regularly at UCB, The Stand, The New York Comedy Club, and have headlined clubs and festivals across North America. Their original videos have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die and Sketch Cinema Night at The Comedy Store. Jay & Eytan’s four full-length albums have reached the top of the iTunes comedy charts and can be heard regularly on SiriusXM.
As a writer, Jay has optioned two full-length screenplays, and written for network television. His short films were selected at The New York Short Film Festival and won the Audience Choice Award at The New York No Limits Film Fest. Online, his comedic, informative, and satirical articles garner millions of readers on Cracked, Looper, The Beaverton, and The Hard Times.
On screen, Jay starred in The Closer, which won Best Picture at the Manhattan Film Festival. He has been featured in several international commercials, and has multiple appearances on network TV including NBC’s And, We’re Out of Time.
